The graphic re-telling is comparatively faithful to the original, in Disney-comic terms, of course: no one dies, all the good guys get happy endings, and there's a treasure hunt grafted on. But really, the question of textual fidelity itself isn't of interest to me; the only real issue is, to what extent does the story successfully meld the elements of an older story and those of a duck comic to create a fun and interesting final product?
