This title presents a lavishly illustrated overview of the entire career of one of India's most significant contemporary artists. It features dedicated mailing and e-mail campaign to targeted art related media & organisations. A. Ramachandran is one of India's most distinguished and prolific artists. Known for experimenting with the myriad possibilities of visual language mediums - including painting, sculpture, graphic arts and design - his work displays a unique talent for combining both contemporary artistic ideals and traditional Indian themes. Magnificently illustrated with over 900 full-colour and black & white images, this two-volume set offers an unrivalled overview of Ramachandran's entire oeuvre, which has spanned four decades. He designed the granite bas-relief sculpture at the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial at Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, Tamilnadu, which completed in 2003. It extends for 125 feet and has a height of nearly 20 feet.
